A MODEL BASED PRECEDING VEHICLE DETECTION
Proposes a new algorithm to detect preceding vehicles from video image sequence taken by an on-board video camera. The advantage of a system using the image sequence analysis is that neither any infrastructure nor any intercommunication between vehicles is required. Vehicle models are represented by 3-D wire frame, and matching is made between edge groups and a projected image of a 3-D vehicle model.
