PROTOTYPE READS ID TAGS ON VEHICLES GOING 75 MPH
This article describes the results of tests conducted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for the California Department of Transportation on a prototype automatic vehicle identification system. The transceiver and tag two-way radio frequency system is intended for electronic toll collection on California's toll bridges and is a milestone in Caltrans' efforts to develop final specifications for an electronic toll collection system
