SELECTION OF A KNOWLEDGE-BASED EXPERT SYSTEM SHELL FOR THE SANTA MONICA SMART CORRIDOR SYSTEM

Describes the evaluation method and selection of a Knowledge-Based Expert System (KBES) development shell for the Incident Management Subsystem of the Santa Monica Smart Corridor System. An overview of the Smart Corridor, the Smart Corridor System, and the Incident Management Subsystem, the rationale for using a KBES shell, the shell selection process, and a description of Neuron Data's Nexpert Object the toll selected, are discussed.
