IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEMS FOR MONITORING ROAD TRAFFIC

Introduces the concept of fully automatic, video-based traffic data collection and analysis systems. An assessment of the suitability of such systems for a variety of possible applications in the traffic monitoring and surveillance field has been made and the experience of image processing research groups interested in these applications is highlighted.
