TRANSPORTATION CENTER HELPS DEVELOP "ADVANCE", WORLD'S LARGEST INTELLIGENT VEHICLE HIGHWAY SYSTEM
This article describes the objectives of the ADVANCE (Advanced Driver and Vehicle Advisory Navigation Concept) program and the research current being performed for the program at the Transportation Center Northwestern University. As the world's largest IVHS public-private partnership, the ADVANCE program will be installing navigation and route guidance systems in as many as 5,000 private and commercial vehicles within a 200 square mile area of the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois
