IVHS, DRIVING FORCES AND BARRIERS

This article has two areas of focus, brought forth as a result of the Delphi forecasts developed through the research at the University of Michigan's IVHS (Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems) Research Program. The authors identify the forces behind the development and implementation of IVHS technologies, and the social, economic, and institutional barriers to this implementation.
