SUBOPTIMAL FEEDBACK CONTROL OF A STRING OF VEHICLES MOVING IN A SINGLE GUIDEWAY
An efficient method for suboptimal feedback control of spacing and velocity errors within a string of vehicles is presented. The suboptimal control is considerably less complex than the optimal and appears well adapted to the control of a large number of vehicles. Hybrid simulation indicates that the performance of the suboptimal system compares favorably with the performance of the optimal system.
