PAVEMENT CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES IN FRANCE AND PROPOSALS FOR EASTERN EUROPE

This paper presents a brief description of the different techniques used in France in the field of road construction, the ways to use them, especially within structure design, the required means and the way to ensure quality. Also presented is the selection criteria for these techniques according to local background, like those to be met in Eastern Europe. For the last topic, the contribution will be especially based on studies that were performed for the Trans European Motorways project.
