FEASIBILITY STUDY ON A FREEWAY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE MONTREAL REGION: A-25/METROPOLITAINE/DECARIE/VILLE-MARIE BONAVENTURE/CHAMPLAIN BRIDGE
This study examines highway problems such as recurring traffic jams non- recurring traffic jams, lack of real-time information on traffic conditions to users and very high accident rates on some sections. Also it prepares an exhaustive list of possible solutions for the corridors under study, defines the recommended system following a qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the strategies with the greatest potential, and submits a plan for implementing the recommended components of the system. It ends with a summary of the system recommended, the costs involved and the results expected.
