HIGH-TECH MONITORS MOVE IN OFF I-95 : TWO CAMERAS AT THE BELVEDERE ROAD EXITS ARE THE FIRST STEP IN PALM BEACH COUNTY'S 'SMART HIGHWAY' PLAN

This article describes plans to develop an advanced traffic management system for Palm Beach County, Florida. Beginning with two surveillance cameras to be installed on February 1, 1996, the County plans to install 90 cameras at interchanges and major intersections along with fiber optic cables. The County is also implementing its computerized traffic signal system which has a capacity of 800 intersections
