INTELLIGENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM PLAN FOR DADE COUNTY
This document describes a comprehensive plan developed for the future of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in Dade County, Florida. The plan includes a general overview of ITS in the U.S., Florida, and the Dade County area. The report first examines the reasons behind developing the plan. ITS themes and goals in Dade county are then explained. Recommendations on the organization of ITS in Dade county are then detailed. The required planning process needed to incorporate ITS programs into Dade County's plans are examined. The public involvement and education program for ITS in Dade County is discussed. Opportunities and methods for encouraging private sector involvement in ITS are described. The report concludes with a summary and recommendations on how Dade County should proceed with ITS projects in the future.
