DETECTION, ENFORCEMENT & TUTORING FOR ERROR REDUCTION : FINAL REPORT

This document presents the final report for the DETER (Detection Enforcement & Tutoring for Error Reduction) project. The objectives of the DETER project were: 1) to develop and test prototypes of on- site, in- vehicle and integrated monitoring, tutoring and enforcement systems; 2) to carry out simulator and field studies of in-vehicle and integrated monitoring, tutoring and enforcement systems to assess their reliability, validity and behavioral effects; 3) to investigate on-site tutoring and enforcement systems assessing user acceptance and legal-administrative scope and limitations; and, 4) to demonstrate the effects of the implemented systems on road user behavior and the possible implications of these effects for road safety.
