THE FEDERAL OCEAN PROGRAM. THE ANNUAL REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT TO THE CONGRESS ON THE NATION'S EFFORTS TO COMPREHEND, CONSERVE, AND USE THE SEA

The report presents a summary of national efforts to comprehend, conserve, and use the sea, and lists significant activities of the Federal Government related to the marine sciences. Only selected activities within the Federal Ocean Program are discussed. The activities discussed include pollution abatement and control, the development and protection of living resources, improvements in marine transportation, and national defense programs. The broad scope of ocean research programs in many different fields is shown. Program budget tables are given and special programs are discussed in detail.
