MODERNIZATION OF THE HIGHWAY NETWORK IN VIETNAM. IRF SYMPOSIUM, HANOI, VIETNAM, JANUARY 24-26, 1994

The objective of this conference was to assess the needs and the possibilities of cooperation between Vietnam and foreign road industry in modernizing the Vietnamese road network. The 3-day symposium was attended by approximately 80 experts from North American, European, Asian and Australian private companies, as well as some 100 experts from the Vietnamese Government. The proceedings contain general introductory material; technical papers from the Working Sessions on (1) physical needs and effective techniques and (2) creative financing; a summary of some projects on infrastructure calling upon direct foreign investment; closing remarks; and appendices containing a list of participants, a thematical index, a press book (articles on the symposium), and a map.
