ROADWORKS AND MAINTENANCE - A MANAGEMENT TEAM VIEW
This paper gives organization charts developed on a role-playing basis and is based upon some of those roles explained by the role-players themselves. Management by objectives is shown as a basis for identifying the organizations objectives and achieving them. "Progress meeting" at each level target the tasks and allow members of that group to influence decision making at the level above them. The following topics concerned with the strategy of maintenance are discussed: economic considerations, structural maintenance policies, needs and priority assessment, the deflectograph, SCRIM, forward assessment, and the level of maintenance and financial allocation. /TRRL/
