THE INFLUENCE OF THE AGGREGATION STATE TRANSFORMATION IN ASPHALT COMPOSITION ON PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
The relations between the physical properties and molecular weights of three grades of asphalts with poor quality produced in China are studied in this paper. The result shows that the relations are quite different from those of high-quality asphalts. The three kinds of asphalts are analyzed by the differential scanning calorimetry method. It is found that the difference between the aggregation states in asphalt composition is the main reason causing the above phenomenon and influencing the temperature stability of asphalts; for high-quality asphalts with good temperature stability, molecular weight is the main factor influencing the properties, but the law is not suitable for asphalts with poor temperature stability, sometimes it is contrary.
