DERIVATION OF DESIGN PARAMETERS AND PARTIAL SAFETY FACTORS FROM LABORATORY DATA
This paper demonstrates the processes necessary to derive the partial safety factors as defined by BS 8006: 1995 from laboratory data. It highlights particular areas of difficulty and controversy, and concludes with a new approach to the manner in which partial safety factors should be combined.
