1995 COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SURVEY: FINAL REPORT

The primary objective of the 1995 Commercial Vehicle Survey (CVS) was to obtain information on the characteristics of trucking activity on the Ontario intercity highway network. The CVS provides a unique source of information on highway freight flows. It provides a link between supply of and demand for freight by the highway mode. The information collected in the CVS is very useful for a broad range of purposes within the Ontario Ministry of Transportation such as policy development, economic analysis, and planning activities. It is also used by external clients including academics, consultants, and industry. This report provides an overview of the methodology utilized and data collected.
