MEASURING ENGINE SYSTEM NOISE AND VIBRATION LEVELS
With the growing size and complexity of engines and the machines and structures they drive, electronic measurement of noise and vibration levels has become a difficult task. To aid in this analysis a series of Dynamic Analysis techniques including signature analysis, transfer function analysis, modal studies of the structure and real time dynamic analysis are described. The advantage in employing these techniques lies in the fact that they enable designers to minimize noise and vibration levels prior to actual production.
