SAFETY AFTER MUTCD: IS IT ENOUGH?
This article discusses variables in work zone laws and rules. Specifically, it discusses whether or not state departments of safety should go beyond MUTCD in the areas of orange-only rules for worker vests, lighted arrow boards, worker training, and driver training. The MUTCD rules, scheduled to be revised in 1998, will grow and take into consideration finer points, legislating from there.
