MIXED STEEL-CONCRETE STRUCTURES. IMPROVEMENT IN STEEL-CONCRETE ADHESION BY MEANS OF METAL SHEETS WITH STRENGTHENED ADHESION
CONSTRUCTIONS COMPOSITES ACIER-BETON. AMELIORATION DE LA LIAISON ACIER-BETON PAR L'EMPLOI DE TOLES A ADHERENCE RENFORCEE
The authors recall the advantages of using a section with a footing with strengthened adhesion (grooved metal sheet for example) for the construction of composite beams. The number of connecting dowels can be reduced by 50%, and the ultimate behaviour of the beams is identical to that of standard composite beams. Tests were carried out on 6 composite beams, 6 M long, consisting of an ipe600 section and a 10 X 120 M concrete slab. Results are given. /TRRL/
