MANAGING WINTER WEATHER

Missouri DOT is studying ways to improve and upgrade its statewide weather information network by examining the need for up-to-the-minute weather and road condition data for ground and air transportation systems. A new weather network would enable Missouri DOT to: enhance safety of the traveling public, achieve gains in the ability and productivity of users of the state transportation infrastructure, provide decision making ability to highway maintenance operations, make the system one part of the MoDOT Intelligent Transportation Systems program and be able to share information with adjacent states and the federal government.
