ANALYSIS OF TYPICAL SHIP STRUCTURES USING THE FINITE ELEMENT CAPABILITY OF THE ICES-STRUDL-II
An analysis of the primary, girth and shear stresses in a Box Girder, for different loading conditions and three different finite element meshes is presented, followed by the analysis of a large tanker in four different loading conditions. Sample calculations of the transformation of the tanker structure into finite elements and members, values of weight, boyancy, load, shear and bending moment curves on all four loading conditions of the tanker and samples of the Box Girder and tanker programs are also presented.
