USA PROPOSES BAN ON CONVENTIONAL TWISTLOCKS

If approved, proposed legislation will indirectly prohibit the use of conventional twistlocks in US ports, dictating the adoption of automatic or semi-automatic systems. The article describes a semi- automatic twistlock with an automatic fixing cone which would avoid the need for stevedores to climb on top of container stacks.
