INDICES OF THE EQUIVALENT SOFTENING POINT AND EQUIVALENT BREAKING POINT OF ROAD ASPHALTS
Based on the discussion of temperature-sensing indices and the penetration exponent PI of asphalts and the influence of wax on temperature-sensing indices, two new performance indices for road asphalts, i.e. the equivalent softening point T800 and the equivalent breaking point T1.2, are put forward in this paper, whose proposed basis and suitability are introduced. It is shown that the service performance of road asphalts can be better differentiated by the PI value calculated by adopting three different penetrations, and the adoption of the equivalent softening point T800 and the equivalent breaking point T1.2 is reasonable.
