ANALYSIS OF THE STABILITY OF REINFORCED EMBANKMENTS ON SOFT GROUND
A new approach to the analysis of slide stability for reinforced embankments on soft ground is presented in this paper. The approach is based on the circular-arc method, but the earth sliding body does not have to be divided into strips as in traditional stability calculations. The slide stability coefficient can be calculated directly by using geometrical parameters of the embankment and slide arc. Maximum tension force of reinforcements can be obtained. Examples are given in the paper to show the calculation process.
