DISCUSSION ON SURVEILLANCE AND CONTROL STRATEGY OF FREEWAY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
The Freeway Traffic Management System (FTMS) is very important to make the best use of freeway capacity. FTMS Strategy and its application in China are introduced in this paper. Advantages and shortages of each measures used in FTMS strategy are analysed and the contribution of field subsystems to the function of FTMS are described. Optimum adjustment of FTMS strategy in developing countries like China is discussed and suggestions of FTMS strategy in China are proposed.
