INFLUENCE OF PARTICLE BREAKAGE ON THE DEFORMATION AND STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF CALCAREOUS SANDS
The influence of particle breakage on the deformation and strength properties of calcareous sands is studied by using artifical calcareous sands and triaxial testing. The results show that the degree of the particle breakage is closed related to the plastic work input. The particle breakage reduced the shear expansion and peak strength and increased the volume contraction strain of the calcareous sands.
