RESEARCH ON THE RELIABILITY DESIGN METHOD FOR HIGHWAY EMBANKMENT STRUCTURES

Based on the reliability theory and comprehensive analysis of embankment structure slope stability and settlement design methods, a limit state equation for reliability analysis and the variation level range of embankment structure design parameters is put forward in this paper. Through comparison among commonly used methods for calculating the reliability, the quick-convergent improved Monte Carlo method suitable for embankment structures is presented to calculate the reliability of the embankments. The design frame chart of embankment structure reliability is established by studying reliability methods and target reliability. This can be used in the transformation of subgrade structure design methods from determination type into probability type.
