THE BEHAVIOUR OF STUD SHEAR CONNECTORS UNDER REPEATED LOADING
An account is given of the results and conclusions of a series of pushout tests on specimens incorporating 3/4 in (19mm) dia. stud shear connectors. In all, seventeen pushout specimens were tested to failure under various forms of repeated loading. The effects on fatigue life of various factors, including concrete strength, were studied. An examination was also made of the adequacy of Miner's linear cumulative damage rule for the evaluation of connector fatigue life under variable amplitude repeated loading. Measurements of slip were taken in all tests. From these results quantitative expressions were derived for the prediction of slip under static loading, constant amplitude and variable amplitude repeated loading.
