A MARKETING APPROACH TO CARPOOL DEMAND ANALYSIS. TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM I. SURVEY DOCUMENTATION
The memorandum details the survey design and methodology employed in connection with a research effort which examined the role of individual's attitudes and perceptions in deciding whether or not to carpool. The study was based upon a survey of commuters in 3 major urban areas and has resulted in a sizeable new data on respondents' socioeconomic and workstrip characteristics, travel perceptions and travel preferences. The memorandum includes a copy of the survey instrument. An overview of the findings, conclusions and recommendations of this research is contained in the Summary Report, also available through NTIS.
