EXPERIMENTAL STRESS ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS
Experimental stress analysis techniques and their application to composite materials are described and discussed. These include strain gages, photoelastic coatings, moire and holography applied to glass-epoxy, boron-epoxy and graphite-epoxy composites. Strain gages are used extensively to determine stress-strain behavior to failure, strain distributions and concentrations.
