TIENPIDON TOIMET TIEVERKON ARVON SAILYTTAJANA
The asset value of the national road network of Finland and current maintenance and rehabilitation policies to preserve this asset are discussed in this study. Two methods are used: standard asset value and depreciation calculations, and utilisation of road and bridge condition management systems. Annual road rehabilitation needs are in most recent analysis estimated to be about 1.8 - 2.0 Billion FIM, and the total asset value of the road network is about 86 - 91 Billion FIM (at 1995 budget level). Annual rehabilitation and maintenance funding needs are at the level of 1.5 - 1.7 Billion FIM.
