SOME REMARKS ON DISTRIBUTION MODELS

Commenting on some of the papers the author points out: - that the derivation of the most used version of the Wilson-model can be modified by directly introducing differences in probability between trips of different lengths; - that the accuracy that can be reached in a model is limited by the number of observed trips used in the calibration, and is often exaggerated; - that the distance function achieved after aggregation of two trip purposes is not a mean of the two original functions; - that the models must be based on variables and coefficients that can be forecast.
