OCEAN DUMPING: PROPOSED REVISION OF REGULATIONS AND CRITERIA

Revisions of the regulations and criteria applied to the transportation of wastes for the purpose of ocean dumping are proposed. They would affect both the procedures for reviewing applications for ocean dumping and the substantive criteria to be applied in evaluating those applications. The proposed changes are summarized, and the reasons for making them are presented. Environmental and inflationary impact statements are available, and comments regarding these revisions are welcomed.
