MAINTENANCE OF VEHICLE EXHAUST SYSTEMS
Motorists and motor vehicle inspection personnel have been warned that careful and frequent maintenance of vehicle exhaust systems is necessary in order to avoid a variety of costly and dangerous problems. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has cited cases which emphasize the need for detecting and repairing all ruptures or leaks in vehicle exhaust systems. A lack of proper maintenance of the exhaust system could pose the risk of damage of vehicle parts which are exposed or close to exhaust leakages.
