THERMIT WELDING PROCESSES FOR SPECIAL STEEL RAILS

THERMIT--SCHWEISSVERFAHREN FUR SCHIENEN DER SONDERGUETEN

The authors describe modern thermit welding processes and their use taking account of the special measures to be taken for rails made of special steels; they call attention to the particular effects of heat on the rails. On the basis of the results from analysis of materials, they show how special steel rails are suitable for thermit welding.
