FACTORS AFFECTING THE STOPPING ABILITY OF SHIPS
On the basis of the results from previously performed model tests concerning the interaction between ship and propeller at extreme propeller loads, an analysis of the influence of the different parameters was carried out with regard to the stopping distance of the ship. In addition a comparison of the stopping distance has been made between types of ships most commonly in use today.
