PRESSURE FIELD INDUCED BY A CAVITATING PROPELLER
A relation is found for the pressure induced on a ship's hull by a cavitating propeller. The contributions in the pressure are due to sheet cavitation, blade-thickness and loading. To calculate the effect of sheet cavitation the cavity geometry must be known. The geometry is found with help of the so-called free streamline theory. The pressure field due to blade-thickness and loading is obtained in a usual way.
