DEEPWATER DRILLING WITHOUT ANCHORS-DYNAMIC STATIONING
This paper presents the characteristics which enabled the SEDCO 445 to drill without anchors in water depths of 2,150 ft and with the objective water depth of 6,000 ft. Specifically, it reviews the design and operating experience gained with the drill ship's dynamic stationing equipment and the special deepwater subsea blowout prevention system.
