DIFFERENCE-FLUX GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR MAGNETICALLY LEVITATED VEHICLES
For guiding magnetically levitated vehicles propelled by an ironless synchronous linear motor, a system operating on the difference-flux principle has excellent characteristics. Strong restoring forces are produced even on small deflections. The electrodynamic power loss is small compared with that of other sytems. Transient oscillations of the vehicles can be damped by additional control coils.
