NEW INTEGRATED BRIDGE AND ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM CONDITION MONITORING AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE FOR SLOW RUNNING DIESEL ENGINES
The following paper is divided into two parts dealing with recent developments of the author's company in the field of marine diesel engines. Part 1 describes the new controls of large slow running engines which are now incorporating the possibility of a fully automatic engine control from the wheelhouse, through a single lever control system. Part 2 relates about SEDS (Sulzer Engine Diagnostic System) a condition Monitoring and Predictive Maintenance System especially developed by Sulzer Brothers Ltd. for their slow running diesels and produced in their own works in Winterthur, Switzerland.
