MONTHLY VARIATIONS IN ROAD ACCIDENT FREQUENCY
Monthly accident numbers and traffic volume estimates in Great Britain between 1965 and 1973 are analyzed, and it is shown that the proportions of the year's accidents and the year's traffic in winter were generally increasing over the years. Data on road fatalities in Great Britain and the United States for 17 years from 1956 are analyzed. The trends in seasonal variations wer in opposite directions; in the U.S there was a decreasing proportion of the year's fatalities in winter, while in Britain the proportion of fatalities in winter was increasing. /Author/
