THE CORPORATE FLEET PLANNING SYSTEM
Gives the reader a layman's view of the Corporate Fleet Planning System and briefly explains some of the applications of the system in the day to day operations of a shipping company. The system design is presented to give the reader an introduction to the major modules and major files of the system. It is not intended to give a detailed technical explanation of the record layouts, file descriptins, etc., of the system as this is contained in the Detailed System Design submitted to the Maritime Administration in November 1975. Requests for the detailed design can be made through Mr. Paul B. Mentz, Project Manager, Shipping Operators Information Systems (SOIS) Program. Finally, the paper contains a preliminary listing of the hardware which will be utilized by the system.
