NEW SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION BUILT ON SITE OF ABANDONED LANDFILL
Nationwide, public works departments of local governments wrestle with the problem and costs of cleaning up abandoned landfill sites. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, creative use and reclamation of such an old landfill site has provided a unique solution to an environmental problem. At the same time it has provided needed space for the city's department of public works operations at a critical location and at a considerable tax savings.
