MOISTURE AND VOLUME CHANGES IN UNSATURATED SOILS
In the first part of the paper are presented methods used for water retention curves and shrinkage curve determination needed to forecast soil water movement and volume change of unsaturated soils. Then there are exposed methods for estimation of equilibrium moisture distribution in soil profiles under unpervious pavements or between hydrophilic bodies. The second part of the paper is devoted to water flow in unsaturated soils on horizontal and vertical directions such as infiltration in homogeneous and stratified profiles, capillary rise and to deduce soil water movement equations expressed by non dimensional parameters.
