SHEAR STRENGTH OF AN UNSATURATED SANDY SOIL
An undisturbed lateritized soil has been tested in triaxial compression under saturated and non-saturated conditions. Non-saturated tests were performed according to axis translating technique where air and water pressures were controlled. The influence of continuing pressures and matric suction on shear strength is analyzed and a non-linear relationship is found to relate matric suction and shear strength.
