TRIAXIAL COMPRESSION AND SHEAR TESTS ON PARTLY SATURATED SOILS
There is no unique virgin compression path for partly saturated soils but depends on the initial state (e, w and Sr). Based on experimental results, a relation between k and Sr has been proposed. Even for virgin states, the friction factor, M has been shown to depend on degree of saturation and it follows a similar law under both applied stress and induce suction probes.
