POLICY AND ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS OF THE CHINA MARITIME CODE 1992
Since China adopted an open-door policy and introduced economic reform, its maritime policy has been developing fast and changing quickly. Chinese maritime policies were earlier reflected in administrative decisions and documents which were easily affected by the political and social situations. The implementation of the Maritime Code of the People's Republic of China (the Maritime Code) and other newly published maritime regulations result in a series of maritime policies. These legislative policies and intended to be more effective and last for a long period of time. Thus, it is worth examining these new maritime policies.
