HOT MIX TECHNICIAN PROGRAM IN TEXAS (WITH DISCUSSION)
In 1990 the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) decided to develop a Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QC/QA) type of specification for hot mix. The goal was to develop and implement the specification in five years. This paper is a summary of the activities which led to the development of the specification with an emphasis on the Technician Certification Program which was developed to support implementation of the specification.
